Sunday Morning Sermons

Here's a collection of our recorded sermons from Sunday mornings. We hope they are enriching and a blessing.

The Idol Of Family

Jacob Parnell

Getting the object of your heart's desire could actually be the thing that ruins you, while enduring hardships and discipline are what refine you. Abraham discovers this in Gen. 22. This message examines his journey with God and how God's challenge to Abraham kept him from making an idol out of family.

Genesis 22

No Other Gods

Jacob Parnell

Despite the absence of golden calves, idolatry is still something all around us today. An idol is anything we value more than God. This messages introduces the series on idolatry and gives some ways to identify the idols in your life.

- Sermon text: Exodus 20:1-6, Ezekiel 14:1-6

Character Sketch

Jacob Parnell

This third and final lesson in our study on church elders looks at the character sketches (not checklists!) from 1 Timothy and Titus. Paul points out some characteristics that elders should have. They should be men of experience and character.       1 Timothy 3:1-7,  Titus 1:5-9

The Tens

Jacob Parnell

This first in a 3-week series on church elders looks at what Jesus has in mind for spiritual leadership. Elders should be servants not authoritarians (Mark 10). They should spend time at the feet of Jesus (Luke 10). They should be good shepherds like Jesus, the Good Shepherd (John 10).

Mark 10, Luke 10, John 10
