Today concludes our 3-week series about Ezra and Nehemiah. Nehemiah was a man of patience, and it is one of the reasons he is regarded as one of the greatest God-centered leaders of the Old Testament. Despite strong and persistent opposition from his foes Sanballat and Tobiah, who tried to impede the rebuilding of the city wall at Jerusalem, Nehemiah was not deterred from his goal. Rebuilding: Ezra - Nehemiah

Fifty years after the Israelites were taken into Exile in Babylon, some of them were permitted to return to Jerusalem to rebuild the Temple of Yahweh. This was a task that required time, endurance, and no small amount of faith. In this 3-week series, we look to the leaders of this effort—Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah—as examples of faith for us. These rebuilders worked diligently to re-establish the community's central place of worship and fortify their relationship with the Lord. We should do the same.
